Delta has been involved in commercial hydroponics for over 25 years beginning with commercial floating raft technology in chilling hydroponic solution water for leafy green vegetables. We work with hanging NFT (nutrient fluid transfer) vertical hydroponic systems in maintaining in-ground sump solutions at desired water temps for optimal plant health. Aquaponics combines the temperature control needs of aquaculture and hydroponic systems on a recirculation loop requiring a common temperature. Delta can help you select the proper size and material (titanium or 316 Stainless Steel) for HeatPump, Chiller, or Boiler based on your site and grow application.

Zoos &
Public Exhibits

Every zoo has several aquatic mammalian, pinniped, and amphibian animal exhibits. Delta has provided temp solutions for polar bears, sea lions, otters, seals, hippos, penguins, and numerous small aquatic mammal and amphibian exhibits. We work with the LSS engineers in selecting the best titanium heat exchangers and strategy for an independent temperature control system or integrating temperature control system for outdoor zoo environments or integrating the temperature requirements into the central heat/chill distribution loop using heat transfer systems. We employ titanium or 316 Stainless Steel PHE skids and water-to-water heat exchanger systems to include both boiler and chiller equipment solutions. Delta will assist the Zoo Biologist or LSS technician in selecting the correct size capacity equipment for your aquatic zoo application.

HydroMarine

Aquatics PHE Package

Description:
The Aquatics PHE Package is a skid mounted turnkey temperature control system designed for facilities with hot-water or cold-water loops that need to add a new temperature control point. This unit comes in two sizes dependent on flow rate, and the plate heat exchangers are sized for each application to ensure proper heat transfer area. Using a modulating 3-way valve on the process flow, the Aquatics PHE Package provides accurate and reliable temperature control. Safety controls feature an aquatic side flow switch, and aquatic side hi-limit shutdown valve to protect piping and animals in system. This turnkey package saves time and money during installation, a priority on all projects.

Boiler Hex Skids

Description:
Our Boiler Skid Packages are designed for facilities with hot-water loops, especially with many drops to different heat exchangers servicing different loads. The boilers come with cascade capability to perform at peak efficiency under any varied load, which is 95% efficiency with our Condensing Boilers. These packaged boiler skids come with an Insulated and Jacketed Buffer Tank, Boiler Pumps, Expansion tank, fill train for incoming city water, and all hydronic elements needed such as air vents, unions, and isolation valves. WTW HEX is optional in this package, and we have many options (Shell and Tube, PHE, immersion coil) depending on your application.

Multi-Boiler Solution provides redundancy in case a boiler has to undergo maintenance. Additionally, cascading options allow to fine-tune sequencing of multiple boilers firing during a varying load condition by distributing load time equally between all boilers.

HydroMarine

Large Boiler Package Pump Skid.

Main skid(s) with boilers will be pre-plumbed to this pumping skid. The multiple skids plumbed together are then unassembled for shipping in skids and sections of pipe. Skid also shows expansion tank, control panel for pumps, isolation valves, checkvalves, etc...

HydroMarine

Small Boiler Package on one skid

including boiler pump, expansion tank, and Heat Exchanger. The rendering shows a Shell in Tube HEX, but PHE’s are also common (shown in the first rendering of this Boiler HEX Skids section). Larger systems can have each of these components on individual skids.

HydroMarine

Chiller Hex Skids

Description:
Chiller Skid Packages are designed for facilities with cold-water loops, especially with many pools or tanks being chilled. Packaged Chiller Skids come with an Insulated and Jacketed Buffer Tank, Chiller Pumps, fill train for incoming city water, and all hydronic elements needed such as air vents, unions, and isolation valves. WTW HEX is optional in this package, and we have many options (Shell and Tube, PHE, immersion coil) depending on your application, and each HEX would come with a flow control train (which includes solenoid valve) and controller which will only activate the solenoid valve to allow flow if there is a call for cold water.

Large chiller skids are common in large hydroponic and aquaponic facilities that need to grow and keep vegetables in large quantities of chilled water, or large "cold fish" farms such as trout or salmon.

Under aquaculture applications we pair the chilling skids with our HydroMarine Evaporators because of their resiliance under dirty fish farm water.
